Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that he will be discussing the feasibility of constructing a gas pipeline leading to Italy with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades.
The three leaders will meet officially in Nicosia, Cyprus on Tuesday to discuss economic cooperation issues, including a prospect to construct a pipeline to transport gas to Italy.
“On Tuesday I will leave for Nicosia for the fourth meeting with the leaders of Cyprus and Greece. I will discuss with them a series of issues, first and foremost the feasibility of laying a joint Israeli-Cypriot-Greek gas pipeline to Italy. The export of Israeli gas to Western Europe could make a very significant contribution to the Israeli economy,” Netanyahu wrote in his Facebook account.
